GURUGRAM : Marking the ‘World No Tobacco Day’, Paras Hospital, Gurugram, has introduced a lung cancer screening clinic and low-dose CT scan, a facility that makes screening for lung cancer faster and accurate.

A low-dose CT scan is a quick, painless, and non-invasive approach to screening for lung cancer with very minimal radiation exposure, compared to conventional CT Scan.

Dr. Arunesh Kumar, Chief of Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine in the hospital, told DTMT, “The low-dose CT scan is a great achievement for heavy smokers, since it is the most advanced form of screening that is used in several developed countries.”

He said, “This is an advanced system that can detect lung lesions with better results than conventional X-rays and with very minimal radiation exposure.”

Dr Kumar claimed, “Heavy smokers can benefit from this as they need not go through the lengthy process involved in a CT scan. This process is shorter and effective and allows us to save more lives.”
