NEW DELHI : Delhi Medical Association has urged all its members to observe a Black Day on June 13, 2019, against the brutal assault on doctors at NRS Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata after the death of a septuagenarian patient.

DMA President Dr Girish Tyagi told DTMT, “DMA is completely against this brutal assault on doctors. To express solidarity, all members of the DMA will  observe black day tomorrow.”

He said, “DMA members should keep the OPDs shut for the day.”

Dr Tyagi announced that they will continue the protest until the culprits involved in the assault are booked under the appropriate laws of the land.

The DMA in a statement signed by Dr Girish Tyagi, Dr Arvind Chopta and Dr Ashwini Dalmiya expressed concern over the “mob culture” in West Bengal while stating that junior doctors are victims of mob violence in the hospitals in the state as well as across the country.
