NEW DELHI:
The Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI) is launching a country-wide digital campaign ‘Refreshing Research’ in pharma colleges across the country to promote innovative and out of the box research to improve patients' lives.

This was announced at OPPI’s conference in New Delhi.

Beginning with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research the movement will encourage participants to come up with innovation/incremental innovation in Women’s Health, Public Health – AMR and Vaccines, Mental Health, Supply Chain Management and Sustainability in the pharmaceutical industry.

An online jury along with broader participation from the student community, who can publicly vote for their favourites, will award scores to participants.  The final scores will have winners emerge with their winning ideas.

The OPPI conference saw brainstorming on regulations, financing, technology and advanced pharma science to realize the true healthcare potential for patients across the country.

Kanchana TK, Director General, OPPI said, “OPPI’s digital campaign aims at engaging younger minds, thus enabling them to be ambassadors for Science and Research.”

The OPPI DG stated, “It aims at building a community of researchers who are not afraid to take that one brave step into the dark blind alley and come up with answers that are not merely confined to addressing problems, but come up with treatments and cures that were till now unknown.”

Ms Kanchana said, “The research-based pharmaceutical industry is proud to be playing its part in the mission to find effective and sustainable solutions to today’s most pressing health concerns.”
