CMO orders one-day salary reduction for absentee docs, staff at Agra CHC

Agra’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Mukesh Kumar Vats has ordered the deduction of one-day salary of doctors and paramedical staff who were found absent on duty when there was a rush of patients at Community Health Centre (CHC), Pinahat block, Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
The doctors and paramedical staff were found absent from duty in the morning recently when Dr Vats took a surprise inspection in the CHC. Dr Vats also listened to the complaints made by patients who said that they are abused with foul language by CHC staff when they seek medical care.
The patients were lying on the floor of the CHC and complaining about poor care at the CHC. Dr Vats said that a clarification has been sought from the in-charge of the hospital about absence of doctors and other staff.
He further added that an order has been given to deduct the one-day salary of absent staffers. “A report about the absent staff will be sent to higher authorities for further action,” added Dr Vats.
