Dr Manish Nigam elected FORDA president

Dr Manish Nigam, general surgeon at RML Hospital, Delhi, has been unanimously elected as the President of the Federation of Resident Doctor's Association (FORDA) for the year 2019-20, the doctors body today said.

Dr Nigam is currently the Secretary of FORDA.

Dr Sanchi from  University College of Medical Sciences and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Dr Rijul Saini from Maharishi Valmiki Hospital will be Vice Presidents, Dr Vineet from Baba Saheb Ambedkar  Hospital will be General Secretary,  Dr Joyutpal Biswas from Safdarjung Hospital and Dr Parth  from Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital will take over as Secretaries, FORDA said in a statement.

Dr Parv from LNJP was additionally elected as vice president to the office unanimously.

Meanwhile, FORDA has organized a meeting in which representatives from different hospitals of Delhi deliberated over the proposed Central Protection Act on Violence Against Healthcare Professionals and expressed their amendments in the bill. A committee was also constituted for the same. The committee will draft the suggestions based on discussions in the  meeting and will submit them to the union health ministry.

FORDA is an umbrella body of Resident Doctors Associations working for the welfare of doctors and fighting for the rights and betterment of the medical fraternity.
