PANIPAT:
On the occasion of World Heart Day, Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, organized an awareness event in Panipat, Haryana, about heart attack and the latest treatments available. The attempt was to provide the people of Panipat with knowledge on the latest and advanced techniques available.

“At Max Hospital, we specialize in treating these calcified lesions with the help of Rotablation. In Rotablation, the very fine diamond burr is used to remove calcium from the coronary arteries and a stent can then be placed,” said Dr. Nityanand Tripathi, Associate Director, Cardiology Department.

“Making use of Fractional functional reserve Intravascular ultrasound and Optical Coherence Tomography techniques not only helps in treating the patients effectively but also improves their quality of life. With the technical expertise available with us for such complex procedures, we have a success rate of over 90%,” said Dr. Rashi Khare, Consultant, Cardiology.

Due to poor lifestyle, more and more young people are becoming vulnerable to various types of cardiac ailments. Advances made in the field of cardiology have assisted well in decision making and better treatment outcomes for patients with heart blockages and even end-stage heart diseases.

There is a rise in the number of patients suffering from varied cardiac related conditions such as congenital defects, valve problems, blockages of arteries of the heart, lifestyle disorders and viral infections in Tier I & II cities. The myth that heart ailments and heart failure only affect the geriatric population and are limited to metro cities is gradually falling apart.
