NATHEALTH outlines road-map to achieve health for all

NEW DELHI : The Healthcare Federation of India – NATHEALTH -- has outlined a road-map of collaboration and partnership with the Government on a common vision to achieve health for all. It has also announced support of leading industry bodies for better, high quality and affordable healthcare in India.

Speaking at a two-day Annual Summit on ‘Reimagining Collaboration to Strengthen India’s Healthcare Growth Trajectory,’ NATHEALTH President Dr. Sudarshan Ballal said, “NATHEALTH reinforced a common industry ethics board which it has jointly developed with Indian Medical Association and announced disseminating it widely across industry.”

Dr Ballal emphasized the need to position healthcare in India as a credible global brand and suggested a PPP with a single window for all healthcare industry.

Dr Ballal also presented a five-point agenda to provide innovative solutions, mobilizing partners from India and outside, informing and shaping healthcare policies and government regulations to serve diverse stakeholders, advocating the cause of healthcare sector participants via sustained communication and education campaigns, catalyzing innovation in healthcare by bringing industry and private sector experience and resources together and mentoring start-ups.

Ms Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Group, emphasized the need for a “World-class Brand India for Healthcare”.

She stated, “The importance for building trust between investors, policymakers and people seeking care, whether from India or from outside, cannot be undermined. The Indian Healthcare sector needs more investments and we can set up a health care investment promotion bureau as a PPP.

The industry also suggested that Corporate Social Responsibility funds could be used to push the critical segments such as preventive health, skilling and digital technologies.

NATHEALTH expressed its willingness to pool industry CSR and work with Government and development sector partners to test innovative delivery models and create replicable pathways for scale.

On the occasion, NATHEALTH signed an MOU with Start-Up Nation Central, Israel, to exchange best of breed expertise in digital health, scaling innovations and connecting the domain experts across India and Israel on one platform.
