Resident Doctors Association, students and Society of Young Scientists of Delhi-AIIMS will take out a candle march in memory of Dr Priyanka Reddy who was brutally gangraped and charred to death in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana.

The march will be taken out at 6 PM from Jawahar Lal Auditorium of Delhi-AIIMS on December 3, 2019.

Dr Jawahar Singh, Senior Resident from Department of Psychiatry, Delhi-AIIMS, said that till now incidents of assaulting and beating doctors came to public domain but this time a doctor was burned alive. “Can somebody tell what government has done for protection of women from Nirbhaya incident to Dr Priyanka Reddy incident?" asked Dr Singh.

Not only doctors but also people across India are outraged over the brutal killing of Dr Reddy. On social media platforms and at public places they have questioned the government over the security of women. They are worried over increasing cases of molestation, assault and rapes of young girls, said the doctors.

In Parliament, several members of Parliament, including Jaya Bachchan and Mimi Chakraborty, have advocated lynching and surgical and physical castration of rapists. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that government is open for discussion on a strict law to protect women from such heinous crimes.
