In a fine gesture, six children, who have recovered from different types of cancer, danced before an audience of cancer-affected children at Jawahar Lal Nehru Auditorium, Delhi-AIIMS, on February 17, 2020.

Through their dance performance they encouraged other kids who are undergoing treatment at India's top medical institute.

Their act of dance was appreciated by the doctors. They were felicitated by doctors and parents of kids who are affected with cancer.

The doctors said that survival rate from childhood cancer is likely to increase from thirty per cent to sixty per cent in the next ten years.

They said that the latest treatment techniques that target only cancer cells will contribute to the improvement.

Dr Rachna Seth, Head, Pediatric Oncology, Delhi-AIIMS, said, "These days, survival rate of children suffering from cancer is increasing. In the next ten years we will try that this survival rate increases from thirty per cent to sixty per cent."

Doctors said that children who have beaten cancer need better care after treatment. Dr Ashok Deorari, Head, Department of Pediatrics, Delhi-AIIMS, said that children who have recovered from cancer need to get better care at home. They should get better food and be protected from air pollution. They should get immediate health check up if they face any health issue, he added.
