53-year-old Manoj Gupta, the owner of a popular Grocery Store in Defence Colony market in South Delhi, has tested positive for corona virus.

Health care workers have launched efforts in the area to trace people who may have come in contact with Mr Gupta. The store, which carries both domestic and imported brands of various food and daily use items, has been shut.

The Defence Colony Residents’ Welfare Association said in a statement that Mr Gupta was admitted to the Max Hospital in Saket on May 19 after developing flu-like symptoms. He later tested positive for the infectious disease.

Seven family members of Mr Gupta and three domestic helps were later put under home quarantine as a precaution.

Three staff members of the store have also been tested at RML Hospital for Covid-19 while the entire market is being sanitised.
