Delhi's Rail Bhavan: 16 quarantined as staffer gets corona

The Indian Railways on Friday sent 16 employees, including one joint-secretary rank officer, to quarantine. They were posted at its Rail Bhavan in Delhi. This was after a senior official posted there turned out to be Covid-19 positive.
The patient is an officer of the Indian Railways Personnel Service. She attended work at Rail Bhawan till May 13. Her normal course of work also involves dealing with people from the Secretary’s branch.
The railways said that currently she had been working on the cadre restructuring matter of Railway Protection Force Service, among other things.
The patient resides in the Commonwealth Games Village apartments in Akshardham Mandir, East Delhi.
The statement further said that the joint secretary’s office at Rail Bhawan would remain closed for next two days for intensive sanitisation of all the rooms and common areas.
“Samples of all 16 employees were collected for Covid-19 testing. Their test reports are expected to come by Sunday,” the statement informed.
