Delhi: 50% Covid beds unoccupied

Cases of corona virus are increasing in Delhi but patients with mild symptoms are opting for home isolation which has resulted in lesser admission of Covid patients in the hospitals.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has said that corona bed availability in Delhi hospitals is 14,521 out of which 50% are occupied.
Speaking to the media on September 17,2020, Jain said that the Covid cases in the national capital have increased due to increased testing which will help to isolate positive patients and manage the situation in the city.
He added, "We have increased Covid19 testing four fold due to which numbers are likely to rise in Delhi, for 10-15 days. This will help in isolating the positive cases and have a positive impact on the national capital."
Jain informed that Delhi reported 4,473 new Covid-19 cases yesterday. Total tests conducted were 62,553 while positivity rate was 7.15% yesterday. The death rate is at 0.7% for the last 10 days.
