Noted surgeon from Bihar, Dr Sahjanand Prasad Singh, has been unanimously elected as the National President of the Indian Medical Association, the IMA has said in a statement.
Dr Singh is currently the President of Bihar Chapter of Indian Medical Association.
Indian Medical Association is the representative, national voluntary organisation of doctors of modern scientific system of medicine, which looks after the interest of doctors as well as the well-being of the community at large.
Headquartered in Delhi, it has 29 state/UT branches. IMA has over 2,53,000 doctors as its members through more than 1,650 active local branches spread across the country, the statement said.
