 BS RAWAT
The Uttar Pradesh government has terminated the services of 174 Anganwadi workers, aged 62 and above, in Mau district. The terminated include 47 Anganwadi assistants and 127 Anganwadi workers.

In July, the state government decided to end the services of Anganwadi workers and assistants who are more than 62 years old. The activities of Anganwadi workers are also being investigated. Their honorarium has been withheld.

The government is constantly receiving complaints that contrary to the directions of the government, services are still being taken from Anganwadi workers above the age of 62 years.

The move will also be implemented in 62 districts of the state, including Ballia, Farrukhabad, Aligarh and Hathras. A letter informing the same has been sent to Integrated Child Development Services.
