Corona cases increased by just 46791 in the past 24 hours across India as per Indian health ministry data in the morning of October 20, 2020.

This is the lowest daily case count since July 23, 2020, when the country reported 45720 cases for the previous 24 hours.

What is more, only 587 people succumbed to the infectious disease in the past 24 hours, far less than the 900+ which was the norm for long.

The consistent downward trend in Covid cases and deaths gives rise to the hope that the country may not see the second peak of the deadly pathogen which has caused massive damage to humanity so far across the globe.   

According to the data, the total corona case count in India so far is now 7597064, including 748538 active cases, 6733329 recoveries and 115197 fatalities.

The data shows that active cases of the disease have come down by 23517 and recoveries have increased by 69721 in the past 24 hours.
