No room for complacency, as corona still there: Modi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a televised address to the nation warning people not to be complacent as even though the lockdown is going, coronavirus has not gone.

Addressing the nation on October 20 in a brief address, the Prime Minister noted that people were becoming complacent and pointed out that in European countries there was a second wave of the coronavirus cases as people grew complacent. There is no room for complacency, he said.

The Prime Minister said that till such time as the vaccine for the coronavirus is available, one should continue to practice wearing masks, hand washing and physical distancing to keep the virus at bay.

The Prime Minister claimed that India has kept its Covid death rate down and also the number of cases is coming down. However, taking things easy will spoil all the gains.

The prime minister wished the nation for the string of festivals of all faiths that are on the horizon, and wished them all a safe festive season.
