On January 13, the first consignment of Bharat Biotech’s corona vaccine 'Covaxin' has landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. This shipment was transferred by Air India from Hyderabad. Three boxes containing Covaxin were thereafter transferred to Kurukshetra in Haryana.

It may be recalled that Serum Institute of India’s Covishield vaccine from Pune was earlier delivered to 13 cities in India.

Both vaccines (Covishield and Covaxin) have received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). They have been tested on thousands of people.

The vaccination drive for corona is scheduled to start in India from January,16, 2021.
