Twelve healthcare workers at Delhi’s Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital suffered from chills and fever after getting the coronavirus vaccine. However, the fever subsided after taking paracetamol tablet.

45 healthcare workers were vaccinated on January 16, 2021, at the hospital. 12 of them suffered from fever after getting the first of two doses of Covishield vaccine. The healthcare workers were advised to take paracetamol if they encounter fever. They are, however, now fine and joined duty on January 18,2020.

Seema Dhama, Nursing Orderly, RGSSH, told the media that she did not face any problem after getting the shot of the vaccine at hospital. However, at night she faced some chills which were followed by the fever.

She said that she had to take 3 blankets to protect herself from the chills. Her fever subsided after taking the paracetamol.

Another nursing orderly Rubeena, who also took a vaccine jab, said that her family members expressed resentment when she got fever after getting the vaccine. She added that her family members questioned her as to why she took the dose in the first phase. However, their resentment also subsided as the fever subsided.
