A total of 96982 corona cases and 446 deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours in the country, as per Indian Health Ministry data on April 6, 2021.

With this, active cases of the virus in the country have  jumped to 788223.

The total number of cases of the virus in India so far is 1,26,86,049, out of which 1,17,32,279 have recovered.

The death toll in India is now 1,65,547.
