50000 Covid deaths in India by April 15 is fake news: WHO

Refuting reports that talked of WHO's warning of 50000 deaths due to Covid in India by April 15, 2021, the WHO has said that it has not issued any such warning.
The clarification has been given by World Health Organization Regional Office for South-East Asia (SEARO) on Twitter on April 6, 2021.
It may be noted that false and unsubstantiated information on spread of corona and it's mortality can cause more harm than good.
Cases of corona virus and deaths have surged alarmingly for weeks in the country. Affected states are imposing local curb and curfews to prevent the damage.
Experts have said that vaccination should be done on war footing and age criteria should be relaxed in order to have herd immunity.
India recorded 96942 cases and 446 deaths in the past 24 hours.
As per the Indian Health Ministry, over 165000 people have died of Covid in the country so far.
