The Indian government has directed its employees who are 45 years and above to get themselves vaccinated for Covid in the wake of the rise in corona cases in the country.

An office memorandum issued by Deputy Secretary to Government of India Mr Umesh Kumar Bhatia reads that all central government employees aged 45 years and above are advised to get themselves vaccinated so as to contain the spread of Covid 19.

"They are further advised to continue to follow Covid appropriate behaviour even after vaccination by frequent washing of hands, wearing masks and observing social distancing," says the letter.
