Weekend curfew in Delhi from April 16

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced imposition of a weekend curfew starting 10 PM on April 16, 2021, to 6 am on April 19, 2021, in the national capital to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The curfew has been imposed by the CM after reviewing the current corona situation with Delhi LG Anil Baijal, Health Minister Satyendra Jain and other senior officials.

In a video message to the media on April 15, 2021, Kejriwal informed that curfew passes will be issued to those rendering essential services.

“Malls, gyms, spas and auditoriums will remain closed. Cinema halls will operate at 30% capacity only. People will not be allowed to dine in restaurants, only home deliveries are permitted,” he added.

On availability of Covid beds, Kejriwal informed that there is no shortage of beds in hospitals in Delhi. According to the latest data, more than 5000 beds are available, he added.

It may be noted that Delhi recorded 17282 cases and 104 corona deaths on April 14, 2021.
