Covid patients going to Telangana from Andhra Pradesh for treatment are facing a hard time as they are not being allowed by Telangana police to enter the state

This has created panic, as the patients needing treatment in Telangana need to have permission and confirmation of beds in the hospitals before going to the neighboring state.

This has caused unease as both states have high incidences of cases of corona virus but due to lack of beds the situation has worsened. Many patients and their attendants have no idea if they need prior permission for entering Telangana. This has resulted in gathering of ambulances at Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border.

Attendants of patients are pleading with policemen to let them enter the state but to no avail.

“All ambulances coming from Andhra to Telangana for Covid treatment, and also personal vehicles, are being checked. Those coming for treatment will be allowed into Telangana only on hospital appointment as well as authorization pass from Director of Health, Covid control center,” said SP Suryapet District, Telangana. Suryapet district borders Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.
