India on July 30, 2021 reported 44,230 new COVID-19 cases, 42,360 recoveries in the last 24 hours, according to the Indian Health Ministry.

The new cases have pushed the caseload to 3, 15, 72,344, and with 555 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, the death toll rose to 4, 23,217 in the country.

The total recoveries reached 3, 07, 43,972, taking the recovery rate to 97.38 per cent.

The country's active caseload climbed to 4, 05,155 which constitutes 1.28 per cent of total cases.

The ministry informed that the weekly positivity rate in the country remained below 5 per cent and is currently at 2.43 per cent. Also, the daily positivity rate is at 2.44 per cent.

To continue the battle against the deadly virus, the country ramped up its testing capacity substantially to 46.46 crores tests so far.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 46, 46, 50,723 samples were tested up to July 29, out of which, 18, 16,277 samples were tested yesterday.

The ministry said that the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered under the nationwide vaccination drive has reached 45, 60, 33,754.
