India recorded 18333 COVID cases and 24,770 recoveries in the last hours, the Indian Health Ministry informed on October 6, 2021.

The daily death toll has not been shared by the ministry.

As per the official information, with more recoveries and less daily cases, the country’s active caseload stands at 2, 46, 687, which is the lowest in 203 days.

The active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.73%, which is the lowest since March 2020.

The ministry said that recovery rate currently stands at 97.94%; the highest since March 2020.

The ministry further added that the total number of COVID recoveries have reached 3,31,75,656.

“Weekly positivity rate (1.68%) is less than 3% for the last 103 days while daily positivity rate (1.34%) is less than 3% for the last 37 days, '' said the ministry.

The ministry said that a total of 57.68 crore COVID tests have been conducted so far.

“A total of 92.17 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive,” said the ministry.
