COVID situation continues to improve every day even after festive seasons in India. The country recorded only 8,865 COVID cases, 11,971 recoveries and 197 deaths in the past 24 hours, the Indian Health Ministry informed on November 16, 2021.

As per the ministry data, the total COVID death toll now stands at 4,63,655 while the active cases stand at 1,30,993.

Kerala continues to contribute the highest burden of COVID cases and deaths in the country.

As per the data, the southern state recorded 4547 cases, 6866 recoveries and 57 deaths in the past 24 hours.
