We have to stay alert against COVID: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said there is a need to stay alert against COVID but also ensure to avoid panic.
Speaking during the virtual meeting with state chief ministers on COVID on January 13, 2022, Modi said, “Compared to previous variants, Omicron is rapidly spreading. It is more transmissible. Our health experts are assessing the situation. It’s clear that we have to stay alert, but also ensure to avoid panic.”
The PM said, “We must ensure financial activities are not affected and we must keep up our growth.”
“Focus on local containment, increase testing in the areas from where more cases are emerging should also be ensured,” he pointed out.
