To streamline the blood availability information and increase the number of voluntary blood donors in the country, the Union Health Ministry has asked the blood banks to get them registered in the web portal E-Raktkosh.
The advisory, which was released on June 3, 2022, by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) said that all licensed blood centres are required to register in the e-Raktkosh portal to enter the data regarding bloodstock availability and update the same on daily basis.
Furthermore, the blood banks are now required to update the data on blood donors and monthly reports to the portal, the advisory added.
All licensed blood banks are required to register themselves to the portal within seven days of issuance of the notice of advisory, DCGI said.
