The syllabus of the UG course will also be changed as per MCI guidelines.

The undergraduate medical students from Andhra Pradesh will have a Credit Based Choice System (CBCS) from the next academic year. The NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) will introduce the system with the objective of honing the skills of the MBBS students and increase their social consciousness.

“The System that we are going to introduce is on par with the system introduced by IITs of this country. The Medical Council of India (MCI) has already asked all the Health universities of the country to introduce the novel system. We will also introduce the same for all the MBBS students at UG level from the next academic year. We will include subjects like Medical Terminology, stress management, time management and physical fitness in the system,” the vice chancellor of the university, Dr. CV Rao, said.

Dr Rao added that they would soon formulate the detailed guidelines to implement the system. He also revealed that they would introduce changes in the syllabus of the UG course as per the directions of the MCI. The University is also planning to introduce integrated teaching to all the MBBS students in the final year of their course.
