A cleanliness pledge was administered to the doctors and other medical staff of the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi, on April 13, 2018, by Union Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel on the occasion of 'Swachhta Pakhwada'.

The Union Minister said on the occasion that cleanliness and health are two sides of the same coin making Swachhta Pakhwada as a mass movement across the nation, and requested that people should neither litter, nor let others litter.

"Neatness and cleanliness is not a function of how rich or poor you are but that of mentality and principle," she said.

"RML Hospital has become environment friendly by choosing solar power and looks forward to a clean and green hospital,” she said.

The minister also released a booklet followed by the inspection of the hospital for the safai abhiyan.

The 'Swachhta Pakhwara' drive aims to encourage and sensitise hospital staff, patients, their attendants and caregivers in maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation.

This drive is a step forward from the Special Swachhta Fortnight drive which was undertaken from April 1 to April 15, in all government hospitals such as AIIMS New Delhi and Central government hospitals all over the country as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
