The troubles for Fortis hospital in Haryana’s Gurugram do not seem to end as two doctors of the hospital were arrested after they were found responsible in delayed provision of treatment to a 51-year-old woman suffering from chest infection. The woman died in the hospital last year.

Chief cardiologist and emergency medical officer of the hospital were found guilty in a probe conducted by the state government’s district medical board after the relatives of the deceased approached them for detailed investigations in the case.

It was found that the woman died due to delay in the treatment and the non administering of life saving medication.

Both doctors were detained  by the police on April 12, 2018, for questioning and arrested on April 13, 2018, under section 304 of IPC (causing death by negligence). However, they were released later in the day on personal bonds of Rs 50,000 each.
