Red Cross's former AP Secretary Dr. Ranga Rao will be missed

Well known doctor from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Dr. A.P Ranga Rao, is no more. He breathed his last on Sunday. He was 75 years of age.

Dr Rao had worked as the Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society’s United Andhra Pradesh chapter. Several doctors and his former colleagues said that the death of Dr. Rao had left a great void in the field of medicine of the two Telugu speaking states.

The Chief Minister of Telangana state Mr. K Chandrashekhar Rao was among those who paid tributes to the departed soul. He expressed condolences over the death of Ranga Rao. The CM recalled how Dr Ranga Rao had dedicated his entire life for giving medical services to the poor and to bring in a qualitative change in the government medical care and services.

The CM conveyed his condolences to the members of the bereaved family. Dr Ranga Rao, who hailed from Vallabhi village in Mudigonda Mandal in Khammam district, had been ailing for some time. Dr. Rao had served the state through the innovative medical service schemes like the 104 and 108 as the Advisor. Besides being a good doctor and innovative brain behind several medical schemes, Dr Rao served the country in different capacities.

Dr Rao was also known for his philanthropy. His role in making the emergency 108 service a national phenomena is  known to one and all. He was also instrumental in the implementation of several welfare programmes with the help of the Red Cross Society.
