By scaling up its protest at the office of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, the AAP Government of Delhi state is upping the political ante.

Important tests, including blood tests, conducted in Delhi’s mohalla clinics and polyclinics, are likely to end due to non-floating of lab tenders that were approved by the Delhi cabinet on December 12, 2017. The Delhi government held the IAS officers' 'strike' responsible for the non-floating of lab tenders.

Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain has tweeted: "Due to this, all diagnostic lab tests in mohalla clinics and polyclinics may stop." Jain’s indefinite hunger strike at Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal’s office entered its second day.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also started his indefinite fast at the LG’s office on Wednesday. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Labor Minister Gopal Rai have been on dharna at the LG’s office since June 11, 2018, demanding clearance of important files related to various important schemes in Delhi.

They have urged the LG to intervene in the IAS officers’ strike that is said to be halting work of Delhi government. Meanwhile, a joint forum of Delhi government officers, including IAS officers, has said that a misinformation campaign is being orchestrated as regards their strike, while there is no such strike.

The forum has uploaded pictures on Twitter and other social media sites of officers working in different departments of Delhi government. LG Baijal will also meet India’s home secretary to discuss the matter.
