The famous international Judo player, Rekha Rathore, started giving training in self-defence to some 300 girl MBBS students of the Kota Medical College on Sunday. The training was provided in the girls' hostel in batches of 30 girls.

This makes the Kota Medical College the first in the country where such training is being given to girl students.

The College took this initiative in association with the Women's Wing of the Indian Medical Association.

The girl students learn both defense and offence, as they kicked and punched as per instructions.

Hopefully, this training will come in handy in boosting the confidence of the girls when they put in work in the hospitals where patients' attendants often get violent with doctors and hospital staff.
