Rishikesh-AIIMS has taken back its September 15, 2018, order that directed medical students not to hold any social gathering inside or outside of the institute without prior permission from the dean.

“Physical, mental and social well being of students of our institution is top priority of administration. Earlier order issued on September 15, 2018 was issued keeping in mind safety, security and as an anti-ragging measure for newly admitted first year students,” reads the new office order.

It adds, “Order issued on September 15, 2018, is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect”. Earlier, doctors of Delhi-AIIMS criticized the order and called it draconian. They demanded the immediate withdrawal of the order with an apology by the director of the institute.

The resident doctors of Delhi-AIIMS have expressed happiness over AIIMS-Rishikesh withdrawing the earlier order.

Dr Harjit Singh Bhatti, President RDA, Delhi-AIIMS, has thanked the media and said that the draconian order barring social gatherings was taken back by the AIIMS-Rishikesh administration.
