KOLKATA: A three-day international conference on Autism, which aims to help reduce the difficulties of individuals suffering from the disorder, will be held in Kolkata starting January 10, 2019. The conference is being organized by the India Autism Center (IAC).

A statement by the IAC says that professionals, researchers and educators will provide comprehensive, evidence-based information in developing effective educational program to take care of people suffering from autism spectrum disorder.

There are 28 speakers from around the world who are globally acclaimed researchers from the medical fraternity, including Dr. Stephen Shore, Professor at Adelphi University, USA, and Jalynn Prince, Founder and President of Madison House Autism Foundation (MHAF), USA. Several others experts are expected to address the concerns of the parents of autistic individuals and offer solutions through discussions.

Suresh Somani, Chairman, India Autism Center, said, “The conference is a humble effort to bring together the community under one single roof wherein we can acquire an in-depth learning about Autism Spectrum Disorder.

“India Autism Center believes that while there is no known cure for autism, an early intervention can make a big difference in the lives of many children, which is what we in this Center aspire to provide,” Mr Somani explained.
