In a clear case of putting patients’ lives in danger, many abortions were conducted and several patients were 'treated' at Nakshatra Hospital in Kothur, Telangana, in absence of any qualified doctor for a period of 21 months startin March 2017. This has been revealed by Dr Yenugu Chandrakanth Reddy whose MBBS degree was misused by the management of the hospital for using the services of unqualified persons.

The hospital was registered with the authorities by showing his certificates. This was done without Dr Reddy's consent.  Kothur is a village located in Rangareddy district in Telangana.

Dr Reddy told DTMT “The hospital continued to function for almost two years without a qualified doctor. There is a woman who is not a doctor or even a qualified nurse but performs abortions and provides treatment. This has been happening for 21 months. This was disclosed to me by a person who had worked in the pharmacy in this hospital.”

Dr Reddy alleged, “After leaving the hospital, Mr Sridhar Rao and Dr RavI Kiran Reddy, of main Nakshatra hospital in Nagole colony, and Mrs Jhansi, fake doctor, bribed the DMHO and got registration done in April 2017 without my knowledge or consent."

Dr Reddy said that Nakshatra Hospital, Kothur, is attached with main Nakshatra hospital in Nagole from where the patients were referred to the Kothur hospital for surgical procedures. This Kothur centre has six to seven beds.”

The hospital is running an operation theatre, lab, pharmacy, general wards and OP cabins. Mrs. Jhansi provides treatment to patients and even conducts operations putting life of patients in danger, as per the allegations.

Dr Reddy said that he was told by Mr Sridhar Rao and Dr Ravi Kiran Reddy to join the hospital. Dr Reddy had given photocopies of his certificates.

Dr Reddy has filed an FIR against Mr Sridhar Rao and Dr Ravi Kiran Reddy. Dr Reddy has completed MBBS from Bhaskar Medical College, Hyderabad. He did his internship from Osmania General Hospital in December 2016.
