The district hospital of Amethi has got its first ever CT scan machine for diagnosing critical diseases. The machine was installed in the hospital in the presence of India’s Textile Minister, Mrs Smriti Irani, and senior ministers of the Uttar Pradesh government.

The fact that this is the first CT Scan machine in any government hospital in Amethi points to the apathy of previous governments to healthcare in the district.

Non-availability of CT scan machine forces the patients to get the test done in private hospitals where the charges of the key test remain beyond the reach of the common man.

Mr Irani said on the occasion that this will bring relief to patients of Amethi who often go to Lucknow and other cities for getting healthcare services.
