NEW DELHI: Delhi Government's Minister Gopal Rai has inaugurated a 24X7 Animal Health Care Service in the Government Veterinary Hospital in Tis Hazari, Delhi, and also a helpline number 011-23967555 for animal health care assistance.

Mr Rai said this is the first round the clock animal health care service in a government veterinary hospital. The minister also said that similar animal hospitals will be set up in all the districts of Delhi.

The Aam Admi Party led Delhi government recently launched the first Animal Health and Welfare Policy for Delhi and the 24X7 veterinary health care hospitals were part of the scheme.

Regarding the shortage of doctors in the Animal Husbandry Department, the Minister said it will be solved soon and vacant posts of doctors will be filled.
