To provide timely treatment to critical patients, AIIMS-Rishikesh has decided to start heli-services for patients living in inaccessible areas of Uttarakhand. AIIMS authorities have already constructed two helipads in the hospital.

The objective of starting heli-services is to reach patients who cannot reach the hospital due to lack of transport.

Dr Manoj Kumar Gupta, Medical Superintendent, AIIMS-Rishikesh, has said that shifting patients to the hospital has been great challenge due to the hilly terrain. Dr Gupta added that there are greater chances of survival of the patient if he reaches the hospital in time.

Dr Gupta informed that over ninety per cent of accident victims have been saved due to reaching the hospital in time.
