Dhankad, Hooda demand jobs for locals at NCI-Jhajjar

As the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Jhajjar, Haryana, has started functioning, the locals living in nearby villages have demanded preference in jobs at the the largest government-funded cancer hospital in the country.
They have also demanded better connectivity for patients to reach the hospital. Their concerns have been raised by local leaders.
Haryana Agricultural Minister OP Dhankad and Member of Parliament from Rohtak, Deepender Singh Hooda, have urged India’s health minister JP Nadda that locals of Badsa village, where NCI is located, and the nearby areas, should have first right to get employment in the NCI.
Hooda also demanded that there should be proper transport facility for patients from different parts of Haryana and Delhi to reach NCI.
“When the foundation stone was laid in 2009, former Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss also agreed with me that locals should get priority in jobs. I find you very practical and feel that you will also agree with my demand,” said Hooda to Nadda.
Hooda demanded that a six-lane highway from Dwarka, Delhi, should be completed at the earliest so that patients should have easy and comfortable travel to the NCI.
Ranveer Singh, a farmer from Badsa village, told DTMT that unemployment is a big problem in this area. If a percentage of jobs at NCI are reserved for Badsa and nearby villages, it will really help the youth who will not have to leave their parents and village to get employment in Delhi.
