MAIDS-Delhi's 3-day event on Public Health Dentistry from June 13

Delhi’s Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS) will, for the first time, hold the mega 13th Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry PG Convention, from June 13 to 15, 2019, at its premises.
The theme of the convention is ‘Advancing Public Health Dentistry Landscape in India’. The convention will be organized by MAIDS in collaboration with India’s Health Ministry.
There will be more than 500 delegates from faculties, dental industry, researchers from more than 200 dental colleges across India and officials from government and non-government organizations who will take part in the convention.
Dr Vikrant Mohanty, Organizing Chairman of the Convention, said that the objective of the convention is to promote public health dentistry (PHD), spread awareness about dental care, update doctors about new treatment advancements and presentation of new studies on PHD.
Dr Mohanty added that the convention includes three workshops, panel discussions, presentation of 120-130 research papers and various debates, discussions and lectures on dental care.
Noted speakers including Dr Jitendra Ariga, Director, School Oral Health Program, Health Ministry, Kuwait; Dr Poonam Khattar from India’s Health Ministry; Dr G Rajesh, Professor from Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore; and Dr PG Naveen Kumar, Professor, Department of Dental Sciences will share their experiences on PHD.
The first workshop will be conducted on scaling up research in tobacco control, in collaboration with the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease. The second one will focus on hands on-Tobacco Cessation in partnership with National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre, Delhi-AIIMS. The third workshop will be on Program Planning and Health System Evaluation in partnership with Public Health Foundation of India, New Delhi.
