FORDA's agitation: Health services paralyzed, CRPF demanded

 BS RAWAT
The continued agitation by doctors on the call by FORDA in support of the striking doctors of West Bengal paralyzed healthcare services in the national capital Delhi on Saturday.

Major hospitals including RML, LHMC, GTB, DDU, Sanjay Gandhi, Ambedkar, Guru Govind Singh, ESI, Dada Dev Shishu Chikitsalay, IHBAAS, Hindurao, Bhagwaan Mahaveer, Chacha Nehru, Railway Hospital, etc. saw doctors come out in solidarity for safety of doctors in West Bengal.

Today, on June 15, 2019, there was a symbolic strike for the cause. OPD, wards and routine operations were non functional. Emergency services  like casualty, ICU, emergency operation were not hampered.

Forda president Dr Sumedh told DTMT that if needed FORDA will intensify the agitation because till date nothing has changed in West Bengal.

He said "As president of FORDA I assure our colleagues in West Bengal that all Delhi doctors are with you and if needed we will intensify our agitation."

He stated that their simple demand from government is to ensure safety of the doctors. If needed, CRPF should be deployed for protection of hospital and doctors.
