The world’s largest doctors' strike demanding a stringent central law on violence against healthcare professionals has been initiated at IMA HQ in New Delhi.

Pan India shutdown of all health services with involvement of one million healthcare professionals is creating history. Never before have the doctors been so united for the cause of workplace security. For the first time, the private healthcare setup, along with government hospitals, are closed in demand for a secure workplace.

It’s a now or never situation for doctors.

IMA general Secretary Dr Ashokan told DTMT, "Healthcare system is undergoing an urgent surgical intervention. Government must either provide us a strong central act against violence or we will change the government."

Dr Harjit Bhati, vice chairman, IMA JDN, said, "We warn Bengal government to accept all demands of protesting doctors in the healthcare institutions.

We stand with NRSMCH residents & Interns."
