Doctors' protest intensifies across India

The protest by resident doctors across India in support of the striking doctors of West Bengal has intensified. Resident doctors in Bengaluru’s Siddhartha Medical College observed a protest wearing black bands in support of West Bengal doctors who are on strike against assaults on junior doctors in NRS Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.

Similarly, resident doctors and medical students of Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla also wore black ribbons and bands to express their solidarity with their West Bengal counterparts. Resident doctors also protested in Kangra Medical College in Shimla, King Edward Memorial Hospital, Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in Mumbai and King George’s Medical University in Lucknow.

The doctors also protested in SMS Medical College in Jaipur, AIIMS-Patna, Aligarh Muslim University in UP and Hedgewar Hospital in Delhi.

Support for West Bengal is pouring in from every corner of the country. The protest by resident doctors and medical organizations is intensifying rapidly mounting pressure on the authorities to resolve the situation.
