Over 100 resident doctors from Aligarh Muslim University’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College protested at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, demanding regulation of duty hours, enhancement of security at hospital and implementation of 7th pay commission which came on 1st January 2016.

The protest and demonstration, under the aegis of the AMU’s Resident Doctors Association, entered its 109th day on June 20, 2019, affecting health services in the hospital.

A senior resident of the college told DTMT, “After 3.5 years long struggle when the resident doctors of AMU’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College were ignored by all authorities, we decided to protest at Jantar Mantar.”

He said, “We came in full force with hundreds of residents and protested at Jantar Mantar but again will return disheartened.”

AMU’s RDA is one of the strongest associations and showed courage to fight against the offensive, oppressive administration but even after all their struggle they are not getting desired results.
