RAJIV GANDHI INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
R.I.M.S. Medical College & Hospital, Kadapa’ – the dream child of the then Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh – Dr. Y.S. RajaSekhara Reddy garu, to Provide excellent Medical & Health services to this region, and also to impart highest level of Medical Education to the Medical Students. Permission was accorded through G.O.Ms.No.562, dt:27.10.05, to start the Institution. The Institution was formally inaugurated by Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Chair Person, UPA on 27th September-06.The RIMS Institutions are located in the plains of the hills of Palakonda Raya in a serene atmosphere most congenial for establishing a medical Institution for learning and serving in a sprawling campus of 200 acres and magnificent buildings with all the facilities & infrastructure, built in record time as per requirements of MCI. The first batch of 150 students were admitted in 2006 and subsequently followed Each year by a fresh - of 150 students. 3 more batches after obtaining the M.C.I. Permission.‘RIMS Dental College’ situated in a beautiful building with an intake of 100 Students per year and a ‘College of Nursing’ with an intake of 60 students per year are also located in this campus.
