Irbesartan
It is an angiotensin II receptor (type AT1) antagonist. Irbesartan blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone secreting effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptors found in vascular smooth muscle, adrenal gland, etc.Mild to moderate hypertension, either alone or in combination with other anti hypertensive agents.
Adults : 150mg once daily. May be increased gradually to 300mg daily.
Hypersensitivity.
Before taking irbesartan, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Diarrhoea, Dyspepsia/heartburn, Upper respiratory tract infection.
Irbesartan oral tablet can interact with other medications, vitamins, or herbs you may be taking. An interaction is when a substance changes the way a drug works. This can be harmful or prevent the drug from working well.
