Mecobalamin
It is a kind of endogenous coenzyme B12. Mecobalamin plays an important role in transmethylation as a coenzyme in the synthesis of methionine from homocysteine. Mecobalamin is well transported to nerve cell organelles, and promotes nucletic acid and protein synthesis.Peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, alcoholic neuropathy, drug induced neuropathy, dementia.
1,500mcg of Mecobalamin daily divided into three doses, for a period of minimum 2 month. The dosage may be adjusted depending on the patient's age and symptoms.
Gastrointestinal adverse drug reactions included anorexia, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Rarely hypersensitivity reactions like rash may occur.
