DOBUTAMINE HYDROCHLORIDE

Dobutamine can be used in cases of congestive heart failure to increase cardiac output. Dobutamine Injection, USP is a clear, practically colorless, sterile, nonpyrogenic solution of dobutamine hydrochloride for intravenous use only.

Indications

Parenteral therapy for inotropic support in the short-term treatment of adults with cardiac decompensation.


Dosage

2.5 to 10 ug/Kg/min


Contra-Indications

Idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis hypersensitivity.


Special Precautions

acute myocardial infarction. Paediatrics: Dose to be reduced. Pregnancy: Use only, if clearly indicated. Lactation: Use only, if clearly indicated. Elderly: Use with caution.


Side Effects

Increased heart rate, blood pressure and ventricular ectopic activity.


Drug Interactions

Nitropruside.
